Blasphemy: Concepts, extent, and moral justifications

Masoud Dayyani

Blasphemy is considered as one of the perennial challenges that human societies are dealing with. Concerning about this challenge is not only confined to pious people, but a great group of politicians, open-minded theoreticians, artists and other social classes, as well. The problems corresponded to blasphemy can be classified into two main categories: concepts, domain and instances as well as discussion on the motives, reasons and justifications. In this thesis different attitudes toward both these categories are thoroughly reviewed and investigated.
