The University of Religions and Denominations hosted a group of British Shi’ite and Sunni scholars on Wednesday, July 26th. It was this group’s first visit to Iran.
Hojjat-ul-Islam-val- Moslemin Seyyed Abul-Hasan Navvab, the president of the University gave a short introduction about the history of the University and added: this University was founded 20 years ago as a research center and has expanded to be an international university now because it is the only university to be specialized on religion studies. Listing the faculties, he emphasized the faculty of women and family due to the significance of woman and family in contemporary world and called it a noticeable feature of the University.
Answering one of the guests’ question regarding the future career of the graduates, he said: we offer MA and PhD courses here and educate the students based on our experience in propagating Islam around the world.
Being asked about the unity among Muslims, Mr. Navvab said: Imam Khomeini always cared about the unity and dignity of Muslims and that was his motivation for revolution.
Mr. Navvab also emphasized understanding real Islam as Imam Khomeini meant and making a distinction between real followers of Christianity and Judaism and Zionist tendencies and added if every believer is faithful to their religious beliefs, majority of world problems will be solved.
