Abolqasem Esmailpour Motlagh
Research Interests: Iranian and Manichaean studies, Mythology
Mythologist, professor of Iranian Ancient Culture and Languages at SBU (Shahid Beheshti University) in Tehran, he is a member of IAA (Iranian Association of Anthropology), SIE (Societas Iranologica Europa) and IAMS (International Association of Manichaean Studies); visiting professor at SISU (Shanghai International Studies University) during 2004-2006, and MGU (Moscow Governmental University) during 2013-2015. He had participated in many conferences and festivals in Iran, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Czech, Poland, Armenia, China, India, South Africa and Russia. Some of his works have been translated into English, Russian, Indian and Chinese. Among his works are Manichaean Gnosis and Creation Myth (Pennsylvania University), The Hymns of Light: Old and Middle Iranian Poetry; Myth: Symbolic Expression, and A Handbook of Persian Literature.
