Born in Iran, studied History of Iran and Iranian Ancient Languages and Culture at the Universities of Zahedan and Tehran with his MA thesis entitled “Third Creation in Manichaeism” under the supervision of late Prof. Dr. B. Gharib (2000). Afterwards, he moved to the Freie Universität Berlin where he completed his PhD in Iranian Studies with the dissertation entitled “Mani’s Living Gospel and the Ewangelyōnīg Hymns” (2014) under supervision of Prof. Dr. D. Durkin- Meisterernst. The study was published by the URD Press in 2015. Since 2014 he is teaching and supervising MA and PhD students at the URD, faculty of World Religions, where he has founded the department of Iranian Religions for foreign students in 2020. His main research areas are ancient Iranian studies, esp. Manichaean studies. His research interest has focused on Manichaean Middle Iranian manuscript fragments discovered in Turfan oasis, Xinjiang, China. He is a member of IAMS (International Association of Manichaean Studies).
