Proximity Method of Ayatollah Borojerdi

“Scientific Authority” amongst Muslims has been a controversial issue during centuries, a subject that has become more important especially after the death of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), and a matter that became a central subject for the Islamic denominations after that. Given that the interpretation of the holy Quran and Sunnah is decisive in Islamic, it could be the most important factor in proximity of Islamic schools of thought. According to Ayatollah Borojerdi, the infallible Imams are considered as “the scientific authority” for the interpretation of the holy texts. This way has influenced Sheikh Shaltout to give a fatwa in this regard in one hand, and to unite Islamic denominations on the other hand.
