Although the stinging positions of Salafi Ibn Taymiyyah against the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt is held in common among Muslims but the strong difference between the proponents and critics of his view points about Ahl al-Bayt, shows the positive or negative impact of his thoughts in the Islamic world and the importance of analyzing the type of Ibn Taymiyyah and Salafis view point toward Ahl al-Bayt and their virtues. His proponents by representing his positive phrases and his critics by his negative phrases about Ahl al-Bayt and also proving the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt from Sunni’s viewpoints regardless of his reasons and fundamental principles, try to defend or criticize Ibn Taymiyyah. This thesis with critical and analytical approach toward Ibn Taymiyyah’s phrases in all of his works, tries to discover, derivate and rereading his reasons and fundamental principles in confrontation with the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt.
